Choosing a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation is a significant investment. Dr. Furnari provides families with far more than a diagnosis. She provides a detailed understanding of why your child is struggling and a clear roadmap for how to help them succeed.

Every evaluation is individualized and designed to answer the questions that matter most:

• Why is my child struggling with reading or writing?

• Is dyslexia or dysgraphia present? If so, what type?

• Are ADHD, anxiety, autism, language, or executive functioning challenges also contributing?

• What interventions will be most effective?

• What accommodations, modifications, and IEP goals should be considered?

This report can become a resource that families continue to reference for years as they work with schools, tutors, therapists, and medical providers.

Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation

Pricing: $5,200

The fee includes every step of the evaluation process. There are no hidden fees.

Your evaluation includes:

• Comprehensive review of educational, medical, and previous evaluation records

• Parent interview and developmental history

• Student interview (when appropriate)

• Teacher questionnaires and rating scales

• Individualized test selection based on your child's needs

• Two to three days of testing 

• Test scoring and interpretation

• Differential diagnosis and clinical formulation

• A comprehensive written report

• Evidence-based intervention recommendations

• School accommodations and modifications

• Suggested IEP goals and objectives when appropriate

• A 60-90 minute parent feedback meeting

• A brief child-friendly feedback session, when appropriate

Why Comprehensive Evaluations Cost More

A neuropsychological evaluation involves much more than the time spent testing. For every hour a child spends in the office, several additional hours are devoted to selecting measures, scoring assessments, integrating results across multiple domains, reviewing records, interpreting complex findings, writing the report, and developing individualized recommendations.

The final report is not a template. It is a carefully developed document that integrates cognitive, academic, language, behavioral, developmental, and educational information into a comprehensive understanding of how your child learns.

Because Dr. Furnari has particular expertise in dyslexia, dysgraphia, and complex learning profiles, every report also includes detailed analysis of the cognitive and language processes affecting learning, along with specific recommendations for intervention, educational programming, accommodations, and school planning.

Optional Services

Some families choose additional support after the evaluation.

These services are available as needed:

• IEP or 504 Meeting Attendance — $250/hour

• Additional Parent Feedback Sessions — $250/hour

• Expedited Report (2-week turnaround) — Additional $500

Insurance

Dr. Furnari is an out-of-network provider and does not participate directly with insurance companies. This allows her to provide evaluations based on clinical need rather than insurance limitations.

Many insurance plans restrict the amount of testing they authorize, require specific referral criteria, or limit the amount of time allowed for report writing and feedback. Remaining out of network allows Dr. Furnari to conduct the comprehensive evaluations that complex learning profiles often require and to devote the time necessary to developing thorough, individualized reports.

Can I Use My Out-of-Network Benefits?

Possibly.

Many families receive partial reimbursement through their out-of-network mental health benefits.

While reimbursement cannot be guaranteed and varies by insurance plan, families are encouraged to contact their insurance carrier before scheduling to ask about their coverage for psychological or neuropsychological testing.

After your evaluation is complete and payment has been received, a detailed superbill will be provided that you may submit directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Questions you may wish to ask your insurance company include:

• Do I have out-of-network benefits for psychological or neuropsychological evaluations?

• Is prior authorization required?

• What percentage of the fee is reimbursed?

• Is there a deductible that must be met?

• Are there any limits on testing benefits?
